How aware works, and the agreement we make with you.

These terms govern your use of aware. By using aware, you agree to them.

What aware is

aware is a service that generates AI-written narratives from connected wearable biometric data and delivers them to a private SMS group chat of your choosing. Two types of messages are delivered:

• The Update — a weekly narrative reflecting each group member's biometric trajectory and a group observation. Delivered once per week via SMS with a link to the full rendered version.
• Noticings — short, trigger-based observations (1-2 sentences) delivered ad hoc when biometric signals cross defined thresholds. Typically 2-3 per week per group, though frequency varies with the data.

Message frequency

Message and data rates may apply. Typical volume is up to 4 messages per week per member (a weekly Update plus occasional Noticings). Maximum volume is bounded by the restraint rules in our product. No more than one Noticing per member per day. Mobile carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.

Opt-in

You opt in to aware by texting JOIN to the aware number, (978) 882-9273, from the phone you want enrolled. We then send a confirmation SMS asking you to reply YES; you are enrolled only after you reply YES. Until you reply YES, no further messages are sent. Opting in to aware SMS messages is voluntary and is not a condition of using any other service.

Opt-out

You can stop receiving messages from aware at any time by:

• Replying STOP to any aware SMS (halts all SMS messages to your number)
• Removing aware from the group chat (stops messages to that group)

Ambient learning

aware reads messages sent in your group chat for 30 days following receipt, in order to correlate what members say with what their biometric data shows. This improves the relevance of the narratives aware generates. Messages older than 30 days are deleted automatically. If you do not want aware to read your group chat, aware is not the right product for you.

Not a medical service

aware is not a medical device, medical service, or substitute for professional medical advice. The narratives aware generates describe biometric patterns and trends; they do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical guidance. If you are experiencing a health concern, consult a qualified medical professional.

aware does not store, display, or generate content that violates the Oura Ring Terms of Service. aware does not rank group members, maintain leaderboards, or compare raw biometric scores competitively.

Account and payment

The pilot version of aware is free. Paid plans will be introduced in the future; existing members will be notified in advance and given the opportunity to opt in to any paid tier.

Limitation of liability

aware is provided as-is. We make no warranty that aware will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the narratives generated will be accurate in every detail. aware's liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the preceding 12 months (which, for the free pilot, is zero).

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we will notify active users via SMS and email before the change takes effect.
